Pontoon Boat Plans

Recent News From Bowdidge Marine Designs

Gday all,
Its great to see so many new members on our forum, whether it just be people who are interested and also new builders. Also it was great to hear the reponse we got from some builders and readers who actually went to the various boat shows of late and actually noted all the ""chocolate" toys on boats that in reality, all looked the same. (LOL)
Here at the office, weve got so many new designs under way, that trying to find the time to get out into our shed to finish our own boat does get frustrating. So close and with our just outboard sitting down at the dealership waiting to be installed, Grrrrrrrr !
Anyway, weve just finished the Roguewave 14 and now were getting into yet more cabin boats, particularly in the 20ft and above range now, something were getting a lot of enquires for.

Were also in the final stages of getting our BMD shirts made up. With the proofs now finalized, they reckon about 2 weeks and theyll be landed at our doorstep. So as soon as they arrive, well let you all know. Were also now in the early stages of getting our boat stickers made as well. With so many of you asking for this, its now in the pipework. So all in all, a very hectic week.

Anyway, we hope you all have had a great week and as for me...gotta go and get out into the shed and work on our own boat (LOL)
So have a good one and...

With a house for sale, and spending time getting the place tarted up a bit havent had the time to use the boat,

Went down to jumpinpin this morning with my son, to get ourselves a few of the winter bream that the reports said were son the move. Was blowing 15-20 knots from the south, so very few boats on the water. .Got ourselves tucked into a nice protected corner and started on the bream, ended up with 20 which isnt a bad way to spend a few hours.

After I pulled the boat out and as Anthony and I were filleting the fish, the fisheries inspectors arrived.  Spent more time explaining what sort of boat it was, than looking at our catch!.  According to them we were the only  people who caught anything.  Not bad for under 3 hours.

Went for a fish on Friday with the plan of getting some squid and kingfish. Ive only had a few short session
chasing squid so I was determined to put in a hour or so. Pulled up to a known squid spot and on the first cast I hooked a beauty then it went quiet. Weather was looking pretty good and as I turned around south head I was greeted with windy slop with swell..yuk! I persisted and managed to pull two more squid from an ocean side ledge. Rule one with squid fishing. Never think they have run out of ink!! Ha ha. I found that out the hard way after taking some photos..Black goop everywhere! Its pretty hard to wash away...

Only caught 3 small kings. 2 on a soft plastic and the other on a slimey. I made
up a few stinger rigs for slimeys as Ive missed a few hook ups lately. Worked a treat with a small king taking a large bait. Tried downrigging the smallest squid but nothing was interested. There were small schools of kingfish getting around and one popped up right next to the boat. Always pays to have a rod ready. There was also a fair bit of bird activity around but they were feeding on plankton or something similar.
Managed to hook a nice little Kingy by letting the lure drop through the birds and fast retrieve. From the reports the Kingfish were slow but the Gem fish and Makos off browns were hot. I was hearing reports over the VHF of yellow fin off Browns Mountain in the afternoon..Lucky buggers!!

Cooking up the squid tonight. Mark needs to put up a fish cooking/ recipe section. lol
